When was the moment you realized micro-transactions on AAA games was going to be a thing?

I been playing games since N64 / Age of empires, I used to buy all the battlefield games because I liked playing with my online friends... I have known of 'micro transactions' since early 2000s and the many korean games I would try out (mostly MMOs).

When I first purchased battlefield 3, and I started seeing all the bullshit microtransactions that you expect from a korean FREE 2 PLAY game I fucking called it right there and told everyone that the time of finished AAA games is over. Everything will be sold at a premium price, and content would be locked for additional fees.

I haven't bought a single EA game since.
