Is there a way to play aoe2 without enemies in the map?

i dont like city builders but this feels different to me and i enjoy it more, i booted up my first game and started building a big city and then about 50 minutes into my empire i just got pummeled by the enemy faction on the map. i wanted to keep playing but without the enemies because its a fun paced game and i like the way that it plays, also
