I'm having fun on the Definitive Edition of the game and I'm having a look on modding and scenario editor.
To my surprise I didn't found much info about it online which really surprised me considering there's a pretty robust modding tool available to the community.
Anyway I've been tinkering with the AGE tool and managed to do what I wanted for the most part, but I'm missing some key details. I was working on making my own version of the 256x tech mod since it's currently not working and hopefully make it usable by the AI. I've settled with making it a crazy 100x tech mod where every tech has its effect multiplied by 100 by default for the same cost (so the AI still uses it normally). I tried with double bit axe it works just fine however I struggle with modifying the description of the tech, whenever I tick the Write Files box and do a modification AGE clearly tries to do it and then crashes and closes without any error message. Also I'd like to understand how to pack files into a mod because right now I'm tinkering with my game files which is really not practical for when I don't want to use the modifications (I know I can simply make a backup copy, but still, I'd like to know how to pack a mod it would be a lot more practical, and I could publish it down the line if I'm satisfied with the result).
Anyway I'm not necessary looking for the answers directly but at least to know where to find them.
(I'm also trying to make a Forest nothing map with randomized spawn points but kinda struggle with how DE spawn point conflict with trees, but I guess that's a topic for another day and not my priority right now)
