Ranking System explained?

Hi All,

I'm fairly new to ranked play on AoE 2DE, just wondering how the ranking system works, i get the higher rating the better, but just asking more for a rough explination of how that rating is calculated? i.e pts per win/loss ect, and what factors are taking into consideration.
