Hidden Cup 3 is a tournament based on guessing player identities from their playstyle. The latest patch radically alters meta so you might see things like every player picking Goths, making the guessing game a crapshoot.
It also throws off the preparation of many pro players who prepared their strategies for this event, only to see everything change in unpredictable ways.
My last point is the qualifying round was played on the old balance so it is jarring to alter the entire meta midway through a tournament.
I think Hidden Cup 3 should remain on the previous balance, future tournaments can have the new changes once players adjust to the new meta. Also some civs may be overbuffed (cough cough Goths) or it might be just fine and this gives time for devs to fine tune the bonus changes.
