I started playing ranked 1v1. The first games were against other players who started new and I managed to stay at around 1000 with 50% win rate. But then suddenly after around 10 games I got opponents with more and more experience (Like 300+ games). Now they are true 1000s and not because they just started and I lose. A lot. And devastating. I lost my last 10 matches and none of them were nearly close. I’m at 20% win rate now and the more matches I lose the more frustrated I get which results in a worse performance and resigning games I still could have turned. Currently I’m not getting better at this game, I’m getting worse. I’m at 720 now but feel I belong to 500 or something which means 15 more losses until I finally get opponents I might have a fair chance against. This is so frustrating, there is no fun in this game anymore. It’s just grinding down the ladder.
Why do they make new players start at a too high ELO? Why no placement matches?
