Before everyone jumps down my throat. I feel like this is already going to happen, since it seems like the Devs are adding more and more civs to our beloved game.
They've added tons of civs with techs the last two years, that before no one ever would have imagined being in aoe2.
With that being said, I feel like trash knights at some point will happen. While, I thought about this, I started thinking how to make the idea balanced and actually work. So this is my idea to make it as balanced as possible:
- Imperial Tech (same as Forced Levy) Food 850 Gold 500
- This civ in particular DOES NOT GET: Bloodlines, Paladin, Chain Barding, Plate Barding and Blast Furnace.
- The Trash Knights cost 95 Food each.
- The Civ ideally is an archer civ with a full archery range and a balanced eco bonus (something not too overpowered but not too weak, like mining camp upgrades free).
If the civ is structured this way, POST IMP they would have trash cavaliers, no bloodlines, almost no armor upgrades, and no blast furnace.
I think with all these things in mind, this COULD work. It would function similarly to the Malay 2hs and compliment an archer civ really well. A late game arbalest/cheap cav build would be deadly. It would offer the civ a lot of options. They could go knights in castle and transition to archers, then make trash knights late game. Or just forgo knights until late game go straight archers, and eventually back up their army with cav.
What do you think? Broken? Could it work? Are Trash Knights inevitable?
