is it possible to change a scenario so you can use expansion units with them?

Hi, my friend and I played a lot of Small blood Ultima and it started to get boring so i came up with the idea to change the current units with dlc units like shotel warriors. But when i tried to add some units I realised that it wasn't an expansions scenario. and is it possible to even change the units you get?
