These bonuses would only be available in its specific age. Once it’s the next age, the bonus gets replaced with a new bonus. The idea is for these bonuses to be much smaller than civ bonuses while still providing flavor.
The point isnt the exact bonuses I am suggesting but the idea of having age specific bonuses.
For example: Meso-American Architecture (Inca, Mayan, Aztec)
Dark age: Villagers +1 LOS
Feudal age: Eagle warriors +1 LOS
Castle age: Unique Units created 20% faster
Imperial age: Shipwright researched instantly.
————————————————————
Central Asian Architecture (Cumin, Tatar)
Dark age: houses cost -5 wood
Feudal age: stone walls built 50% faster
Castle age: relic starting locations revealed
Imperial age: houses gain +4 LOS
————————————————————-
Why?
————-
Dark age, while important, is normally described as boring. If the developers add a new civ with a unique/interesting dark age only bonus then every other civ would become that much more bland in the dark age.
It would be much easier to remember these bonuses. Such as if you see South Eastern architecture in the Imperial age then you can 100% assume their buildings have +5% HP without needing to check if they’re Malay, Burmese, or Khmer since they would all gain that meager bonus.
