Noob question: how do guys hit and run with cav archers?

If I have too many CA I feel targeting with right click can be very ineffective against pikemans, for example. In that case I am doing hit and run with stop button(F) but now I feel my units wait a little bit more if I use stop button instead of targeting with mouse right click. Am I doing wrong? Is there another way to do hit and run with targeting multiple enemy units?
