Has aoe2 community suddenly gone a bit more dramatic than usual?

But a month ago (last year aha) aoe2 had some drama but it was all water under the bridge with a few exceptions here and there.

Now everything seems to be a bit more toxic. I know sometimes HD is HD. But even on Voobly in NPL people are the same and some are even saying more obnoxious stuff than usual.

Has the game suddenly gone slightly toxic? I really hope not. I enjoyed how welcoming everyone was. It de motivated me to play at the moment.
