Last night I had one of my favorite victories

I always pick random civ because I tend to work better on my toes. I got the Khmer which I'd never played as and was unfamiliar with. I built houses near my woodline and gold and the enemy tried to scout rush me, for a second I forgot about garrisoning and lost a couple vills but quickly lead them to the safety of their homes. As soon as I had the resources I went to castle just as the other enemy (astecs) finished collecting all the relics. Then the countdown started and I went full into boom and elite battle elephants and trebs and broke through to the monastery that was heavily defended and knocked it down with 3 years remaining. The enemies quickly gg'd as my 6 stables outside their base just kept sending out more fu elite battle elephants. I normally don't come back from early rushes so this was a good game for me.
