Thinking of buying Age of Empires 3 on sale on steam, but isn't the Definitive ver. coming out?

Do we have an estimated release date for Age of Empires 3 definitive? I did some research, and it seems we don't have a release date yet.

Are the devs just only working on the original AOE Definitive first?

Just wanted to get some confirmation from the community.
