Aztec Imperial Skirmishers

You know, the ones with Atlatl. I'm not really a player, which is why I ask. I'm more of a fan who closely follows the competitive scene pretty closely where we would rarely see this (because Vietnamese)

Has anyone played around with this combination and can attest to its strength/viability? On paper it obviously looks decent.

For reference:

• 4+5 attack (+5 vs. archers)
• 2/7 armor
• 5+4 range

(No thumb ring or ring archer armor)

Some points of discussion:

• How strong are they in trash wars?

• How would they compare if the Aztec player went full Imp. skirms in Imperial age vs. full arbalest? (Lower fire rate, -1 attack, countered hard by cavalry, but no gold cost)

• Any other ideas?
