Ever since I started playing AOE2 again recently and explored the new expansions, Bohemia has been easily my favorite map.
It's a nomad-style map where you start with villagers scattered all over the map. What I like is that there is a lot of unpredictability and variability in terrain. Pretty much any civilization can work great here and there are a lot of different strategies you can do depending on the situation and how the starting player positions line up.
There are a lot of different choke points on the map so a defensive strategy can work well but because of the nomad setting you can end up having to rush early as well. Rivers provide a certain challenge as well and naval units can also work well in some cases.
The bridge in the middle in particular is a really great choke point: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/ageofempires/images/7/70/Bohemiaruin.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/640?cb=20170223074032
It's just such a great unpredictable and diverse map.
Anybody else who likes to play this map?
