New Siege Unit Suggestion: Rocket Battery

This idea mainly came about due to how assorted Unique Techs are used to "proxy" rockets with other Siege Lines, so that Chinese rockets "count as" upgraded Scorpions, Korean rockets "count as" upgraded Mangonels, etc. Thoughts/comments appreciated.

The Rocket Battery is unlocked at the Siege Workshop after Chemistry, and serves primarily as an "area control" tool. It would have an area of effect similar (if not slightly larger) to the Mangonel line, but do less up-front damage (and lack the bonus vs Siege/Buildings) while only being Range 7 by default. Its main advantage would be that it fires a protracted "volley" so that damage is "spread out" over time, and it would be able to Attack Ground. Thus, the Rocket Battery exists more as an "suppressor" tool rather than the "sniper" that is a Scorpion or the "all-arounder" that is the Mangonel.

Civilizations that would have access to the Scorpion:

  • The Chinese: Naturally. Optionally, Rocketry would improve the damage of individual rockets too.

  • The Indians: Mysorean Rockets are a notable part of Indian military history, but they started using them by the 1400s.

  • The Italians: The Battle of Choggia was a naval engagement and the first recorded use of rockets in Western European warfare by the Venetians.

  • The Koreans: Their Unique Techs could potentially be modified to affect the Rocket Battery.

  • The Mongols: They notably used rockets when facing the Hungarians at the Battle of Mohi.

Arguably the Persians or Saracens, the former if "Persia" is also a catchall for the Timurid Empire/Khwarezmids, the latter since they co-opted a lot of gunpowder tech when fighting (and eventually defeating) the Mongols. The Vietnamese would probably appreciate the tool as well.
