Idea for easy non disruptive cosmetic monetization

If we want to keep permanent development efforts in aoe2, we need some degree of live services monetization, which forgotten empires have already started setting up with the ability to own cosmetics.

However I think so far this is very limited to either small changes or client side only cosmetics, to not destroy the glance value of which unit is which.

I suggest a "marble block" building which is expensive, one block big and has less hp than a palisade. This is to make sure it has no gameplay relevance whatsoever.

This could have a whole range of cool common to very rare cosmetics with different statues, wells, whatever the artists can think of.

It would be an easy and cheap way to add lots of customization that can only bring prestige or ,for more roleplay-style players, they can make their town look more pretty.

Imagine destroying your enemy with some meme strat and then sending in vills to drop a petard statue in the ruins of his base.

As a start, they could probably have statues for every single unit in the game ready in a month just by taking the front view sprite and putting a gray filter over it with a small stone pedestal at the bottom.
