Does anyone have any tips how to stay calmer and levelheaded during ranked?

I purchased AOE2DE in back in February and I've started playing a bit of ranked recently. I haven't had many RTS experiences like AOE2. I've played a lot of Total War MP but that's considerably simpler than AOE2. My most played game over the last few years is R6:Siege, in which I've reached the high ranks consistently, the main appeal of R6:Siege actually led to try out AOE2 to begin with (think operator/civ knowledge, map knowledge, strategies and high skill ceiling)

I originally sat around 500 ELO, but by now I hover at about 900-1.1K ELO. However, I still get quite overwhelmed thus completely forgetting about certain parts of my territory and I've resigned a couple of times too early since I got over-pressured.

I mostly play Byzantines, Slavs and Magyars. I tend to play defensively and rely quite heavily on trash units together with some siege, then by late game I tend to start building up gold costing units, which generally works as my opponents spend their gold early on.

I am still struggling a bit with build orders and how different maps call for slight variations in strategies. I also struggle a bit with keybindings still as well, but I've been experimenting with them to find more comfortable combinations for me.
