Is there a way to have better games on real World Maps?

May sound kinda dumb, but I love playing on Real World Maps, especially as geographically relevant Civs (Britan, France, and Spain duke it out over the French map for example).

I know these maps aren't too common in multiplayer, so I usually play an Ai, but that's where things get a little tricky. Most Real World maps are Large or bigger, which I normally don't mind as you can usually keep finding gold until the very late game. My issue is that while the map may be huge, the Mapmaker sets you all fairly close, sometimes trapping one player on an odd spot surrounded by enemies. I've tried starting a game and insta-quitting just to see if making a new match would switch it up, but it always falls in the same 3 slots side-by-side.

I thought I could pull the map up in the Map Editor and place the starting TC's Manually, but it doesn't seem to be in the maps available.

TLDR; I wanna play a real-world map without being right onto of each other. any clue how to space us out or where I can download the map files for Editor?
