Civilisation any good?

Hi,

I love RTS games. Settlers, Age of Empires, Rise of Nations, C&C, Knights and Merchants, EMpire Earth etc etc...

I've heard a lot about Civilisation but was always put off because it's turn based. TBH I've never tried a turn based game except for Rome Total War and the turn based component on that isn't bad. In fact after a while you just click "autoresolve" for the battles anyway and it just becomes turn based.

I know it's hard for people to say, but any thoughts would be welcome re: if I'm likely to enjoy it?
