Managing post-boom

Hey guys, just getting back into aoe2 for the first time in my adult life and really practicing a lot to try to get better. I have practiced certain builds a lot more than others, and have gotten to solid uptimes. My go-to favorite is Drush into archers, and I’ll hit feudal with 24 vills in about 12:20 and castle, fully walled, with 24 archers, fletching, double bit, and horse collar in about 23:30 (could use work of course, but not an awful start. I practice this daily against the AI, mostly just trying to improve castle time.)

I think I manage castle age much better than most beginning players, and I often win there. But if I don’t, I’ll boom hard on 4-5 TCs, and I’ll actually hit a point where I am not able to spend my resources quickly enough. I’ll end up floating 1k+ of wood/food/gold and sometimes even 2k. Part of it is getting distracted with micro, but I think the main issue is my hotkeys or maybe not making enough military buildings. When you’ve full boomed, how many barracks/ranges/stables/siege will you be on? How do you manage your production hot keys? Any other tips for me? Thanks in advance!
