AoE2 Screen is two small?

so i just icked up the game recently and its been years since the last time i've played it, i have a FHD Monitor but when i run the game the game screen only takes about 25/30% of my total monitor, first i thought it has something to do with reolution but changing it to 1024 didn't effect anything
