HC - Improvement Thread

I was thinking about HC-cup. I really liked it, especially how alive the community was. A lot of the filler convo went to talking about improvements, and it was the theme of the post-game interview too. So, I wanted to chitchat about it. I can start with my thoughts!

1. Embrace the novelty, forget the seriousness.
   That Tristan fellah talked a lot about competitiveness and lack of ophiophobia playing against an unknown. Cool idea, but the players quickly found out who was who. So we know the answer to the question now, no need to ask it one more time. I believe the prize pool should be enough to ensure that the players take it seriously. So the effort should go towards perfecting the novelty of the viewers not knowing who is playing.

2. Names, oh god, please give us names.
   Fun Idea, give every player a nickname based on themselves, and scramble them afterwards. F. ex. you could have;
   Slamgate
   SorryIamTheOtherNorwegian
   SnekSnek
   CastleMan
   FearTheDragon
   And you get the point. Randomizing implies that someone might get their own nickname, or play against "themselves". Hilarity would ensue. This would also help the players as their name would be constantly on stream, I know a lot of them live of streaming revenue. It would also give talking points to the casters who could explain the origin of the names.

3. Keep the size of the player pool. Keep the structure.
   Truth be told, I was almost tired of not knowing who they were by the final. While I still enjoyed it, it seemed like the casters themselves ran out of things to analyse.

Or at least do not add to many extra players. Getting everything done in one weekend is important. As mentioned, I was tired by the end. There is gotta be a pay-off to the build up. Waiting a week for next round would ruin the feeling. I also hope this is a yearly or biannual thing. Too often would defeat the quirkyness-factor.

1. No Scrub- Zone

The joke about putting fatslob or any other legend in there got people thinking. While the novelty would be fun, I think it would just be a farce after game one. Tristan didn't have a chance against neither Daut nor Viper with extra starting time. It would just be a trashing from minute 2. If you wanna shake it up, include someone with personality like Dracont. Would be hilarious to see people LARP him, thrash talking eachother. INB4: Secret getting torn apart due to Tatoh and Daut trashtalking eachother too much, not knowing which one is which.
