Monitor for aoe2

Hey guys,

What is a good monitor to play aoe? I see the viper among others stream the game and they see a huge portion of the map. I have a 21 inch monitor (fairly old), but it shows way less than what I see on the streams of pro gamers. I can put my computer on higher resolution, but then everything becomes too small and unsharp. What do i need to know about monitors?

On a sidenote, i actually play tekken a lot too. Where i would need a monitor with little lag input (obviously aoe doesn’t require this as much as a fighting game). I came out with the following monitor: BenQ ZOWIE RL2460. Would this also be a good monitor for aoe? Or should i focus on totally different things? I have little knowledge on pc tech, as I’m mostly a console gamer. Hope you guys can help me out!
