This is my second attempt to improve a civ which most players would agree sorely needs improvements. For Turks the problem is that they are too gold reliant so I made multiple techs and units cheaper to make the gold crunch less severe, I also made the Gold miners work even faster, and most importantly I gave them Pikeman to help them have a chance in the late game.
Civilization bonuses
- Gunpowder units have +35% HP. (up from 25%)
- Gunpowder technologies are 50% cheaper.
- Chemistry is free.
- Gold Miners work 25% faster. (up from 20%)
- Light Cavalry) and Hussar) upgrades are free.
- Gunpowder Units are 25% cheaper.
- Team bonus: Gunpowder units are created 20% faster.
Unique units
- 📷 Janissary) (gunpowder foot soldier) (Elite Upgrade cost reduced from 850F, 750G to 1000F, 650G) (Elite Janissaries have 15% higher fire rate)
Unique technologies
- 📷 Sipahi (Cavalry Archers) +20 hit points)
- 📷 Artillery) (+2 range for Bombard Towers, Bombard Cannons, Cannon Galleon) (Cost reduced from 500G, 450S to 450G, 350S)
Technologies added
- Pikeman
- Crop Rotation
To me these changes would allow Turks to be a more dangerous Civ earlier in the game while vastly improving their late game. Giving them Pikeman allows them to have a better trash war in the super late game while better janissaries and overall cheaper Gunpowder makes them a powerful early imperial age civ.
Like with my Byzantine post I am very interested to hear what other think so please comment on whether these changes are good one and what you would do to improve Turks.
