Hello, fairly new to Reddit and am somewhat of a beginner at AoE2 with about 60 hours in game. I have mainly been focusing on micro mainly, such as nailing fast castle strategy. My problem is whenever I build my army, the AI seems to just wipe out the units I have. I am somewhat familiar with unit counters such as pikemen > cavalry, cavalry > archers, etc. but no matter whatever I do it seems like the AI just mixes all of it's units and wipes my entire army. At the end of the game I typically have like twice as many units lost as the AI. I can eventually win the game after about 2-4 hours only by spamming units until I take each building one by one.
As I said before, I'm fairly new to the game, so any tips would be appreciated.
TLDR: New player who's army gets destroyed by AI consistently.
