Lag when using Wine

I am using Wine (recently switched from Bootcamp, couldn't be bothered booting in Windows every time).

The lag is unplayable. I feel sorry for the people in the couple of games I've joined, it was unbelievably laggy even for HD.

Does anyone have any tips?
