Countering archer rush counters

I'm working on getting a decent archer rush against the ai but it's really hit and miss. Even when I get my first archery range near the enemy at 12.30 and first 6 archers by 15.30 it usually works but often it feels too late and the ai just churn out constant skirms at me. I've seen spirit of the law do archer rush versus three hardest ai and beats them easily, he even says those times are fine (his guidelines are first range up by 12 minutes, 6 archers by 16 minutes).

• How do I counter ai going skirms against my archer rush? Since I have ranges up I normally switch to skirms too but it still totally knocks the wind out of my rush.
• What are good times to aim at for each of the milestones involved in an archer rush?
• Finally, and absolutely no disrepect to spirit here, but is it just me or is he kind of lucky in his videos against hardest ai? Not to say he isn't skilled but in my experience the ai is only as docile as the ones he gets about half the time. They barely attack him at all in his 1v3! Even the second ai he hits in Castle age!
