Help me with which units to build with which civs please!

Happy Holidays everyone.

I accept its a strange time of year to ask for help but as i have a decent period of time off im going to wip out my laptop and play some AoE2!

Im defo a noob. I started playing game maybe 10 years and periodically return for fun.

Im ok with build orders etc but literally zero unit knowledge. I know what units counters others so im ok there. The issue i have is which civ im meant to build which units with ie who has strong paladins, or archers etc.

This means when I play a game and i get to say castle age at the same ish time as the other people, i end up building a stable, barracks and arch range. Ill build at random, only to realise late research time i cant upgrade from knights to paladins for example. It also means my black smith research is behind as im researching everything.

Im not looking for an indepth guide of each civ just a snappy a-z ist of with certain civ its best to build certain troop type/combo. It means i can look in 5 secs the start of the game to aim for something.

Thats how bad i am. I can only name those two! And im not even 100% sure those are correct lol.

Would be great if someone could help a total knowledge noob!
