Is it possible to beat the the AI on moderate 2v2 on fast speed? Or even normal?

Edit: title should really be asking how to beat the AI on moderate. It probably is possible.

I'm a noob ngl, but me and my friend keep playing and even though we're getting better at casting quicker and working on small mistakes like build orders and making sure that resources are constantly being used and not stockpiling, we still get rekt lol. Getting kind of disheartening now and we're not sure what to do. Usually one of us gets ganged up on and the other doesn't have a big enough army to go help out. Plus one of the AIs is much stronger and castles very fast. I think it's a fast castle strategy. Any tips?
