How can I replace the campaign AI?

I've searched this for quite awhile; I prefer the Aok/Conquerers AI rather than the one in AoE2HD that spams infinite units without an economy

There's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\resources_common\ai\ however all the guides I've seen involve how to chose these files for a custom scenario
