Playing online and quality

I'm a very new AoE2 player and i downloaded voobly to play some rank, however in the couple games i played my screen is forced to go to this weird square ratio and the quality goes to absolute shit, apart from some weird things (like queueing multiple barrack will only queue one barrack despite having multiple selected) my i have the full game+all expansions on steam and id like to know if theres a way to play on voobly with more then 144p and using what seems like the original alpha for the game
