Very strange game the other day. Was this a cheater?

The other day in an Oranos mirror match I got my ass kicked really hard. Too hard, it seemed at the time. A huge wave of Murmillo steamrolled over my base destroying the Town Centre in a matter of seconds, and I got pretty confused as to how he could have trained so many, so quickly.

When I looked at the Replay file, viewing unit production on both sides, the opponent never once queued any villagers or fishing ships for production. In the Replay his Citizens simply popped into existence at the convenient locations to gather resources. By the time I had been able to train one Citizen, he already had 5 - and I had started my loop from the first second of play.

He also seemed to spawn in Fishing Ships on the water before he'd even built a Dock, and also spawned in villagers right next to hunting spots in the middle of the black map.

Unfortunately the Replay automatically cuts out after that point, saying it had lost sync with the real game. It seems to me that the only way he could have sent that many troops at me would be using some cheat to spawn in units at will, like I'd seen with the villagers.

Was that just a symptom of the desynchronized replay, or am I right to be suspicious?
