Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition Ranked games!

I was just playing some Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition

I were inside a ranked game 3v3 the enemy had just built a castle drop on my wall of houses.

1 min later the game crashes, i rush back into the game prob 15 sec later to notice that there is NO JOIN PROGRESSED GAME... WTF ?

I love this game and i have always loved AoE.

But why did they not add an option to join a crashed/quited game.
