My thoughts on how AoE2:DE could really become a great game

This is just how I think it could work out:

  • Microsoft hires the developers of User Patch and let them include all User Patch features into the HD version (including all DLCs)
  • all graphics are redone, just like in AoE:DE
  • mouse wheel zooming feature is gonna be included, also just like in AoE:DE
  • spectator overlay and Voobly spectator features are included
  • mod support (doesn't matter if it's done with the Steam Workshop or another solution, but MOD SUPPORT)
  • smooth multiplayer experience with low to no lag
  • updated ELO-system, perhaps rankings (you need to play a few games first and then you get ranked, like in StarCraft II) and regular tournaments (like in Rocket League for example)
  • Microsoft hires someone to create a few custom scenarios just like ZeroEmpires' fast castle tutorial scenario to get SP players used to MP
  • campaigns get an overhaul to make use of the new features and graphics
  • new features get added that don't alter the gameplay too much, e.g. queuing technologies, setting difficulties differently for different AIs, etc.
  • one or two new game modes
  • more available settings (different game speed options, map size between large and ludakris, etc.)
  • streaming-integration (and BTW => fun idea, just for the lolz: imagine a new game mode where the twitch chat can influence the game by taking part in polls)

The list could go on, I think. But I think this is the foundation that would be needed to unite Voobly and Steam players! What are your thoughts on this? And what features could improve on the Voobly version. Or in other words: What is the Voobly version missing? (besides Attack-Move)
