How do you guys remember to keep making houses and vils when fighting and creating units?

It's mainly a problem with the houses.I remember to make my first four houses perfectly,but as feudal gets going and I'm controlling my scouts or archers,I find myself getting housed way too many times.This really affects vil count and my army doesn't come out as fast.

This has led to me being really good at huns ,but I struggle with other civs.

So do you guys have any points where I should be housing from feudal onwards?
