Should UU be buffed to make them more appealing for competitive AoE?

Am I the only one who feels like UU are almost never used in competitive matches?

Being that most of them depend on having to build a castle, plus the fact that regular units, like xbows and knights do just alright if not amazing for their price, and easiness of creation/spam, sometimes makes it feel like UU have no place in most serious matches.
