French ‘declare war’ on British fishing boats -Uk Press. How do you defend your food supply at Sea?

Maybe the French were triggered with my post hypothetically placing Britons in the top 5 Civ for Siege i know some of you were :P, but to attack our fishing ships............

Anyway with jokes aside, what tactics do you employ guarding your Docks and Fishing Ships? For me, i like to have my fishing traps in a close ordered circle around my dock with some towers right by. To support this i sometimes also place a Castle close and have a few Galleons patrolling. Would be great to hear the groups tips and tactics for protecting your food income via the deep blue sea :)
