Why wheel/coinage was made accessible to all civs in AoE DE

So I've been looking at DE and thinking about the changes, and that all civs get access to the wheel tech and coinage now, and thinking about why this is the case.

I think this is because both of these research are extremely powerful econ upgrades, with wheel also also being useful for faster building as well. Coinage basically lets you spend 300 food and 200 gold to actually increase the total amount of gold you have access to. (Mining Productivity, yo!)

Along with the farm reseeding mechanic (done I think in the best way, by having it be a toggle to autospend wood in your stockpile when the farm runs out, I think these are AoE 2 understandings of economy leaking into the game, and that is good.
