Best version for singleplayer

What's the best version of AOE2 if you just play single player?

Between Steam, (AOE2HD), AOE2 user patch 1.5, Voobly, ect, I'm not sure which is the best option for SP?

I really like all of the texture mods for the HD version, in fact, with the right combination the game looks pretty amazing, particularly the terrain, which I always thought looked really bland otherwise.

I like the Age of Chivalry mod a lot, and usually I play this mod, but it's incompatible with the Steam version, and I've never found any way to use any of the terrain mods from Steam on the original userpatched version of the game, and the terrain is particularly drab and disappointing to look at compared to the Steam version. But, AoC imo is such an improvement to the game that it almost always seems worth it to play it instead of the Steam version.

And then Voobly and all it's mods ect.
