Since elo has been back my rank fluctuated a bit from 1630 down to 1600 up to 1700 HD. Now I find that I'm scared of a lot of the players I play against. I still don't have fast castles down and only really do them well on maps like yucatan where you don't need extra farms.
But I'm able to hold my own and often carry my team to wins in 1700 average elo games. But now I don't really want to go any higher. I find myself conceding games after my team has won. I guess I just need to let go of this fear of not being good enough. And it's getting harder to find games. I can't imagine how hard it must be for 19k and above.
I'm still a scrub though lol. Every once in a while I get a 1900 or something on my team and see them wrecking with 40 xbows when I have like 5 knights.
The variance in skill is a lot lower and I'm noticing fewer disconnects or early leavers too. Especially since now I know pressing "quit" instead of resign shows up in game as "player xx has dc'ed".
