Wololoo everyone!

During the E3 the developers of AOE2:DE announced that they are going to make some changes in civilizations in the older campaings where applicaple (say, Berbers in El Cid or Italians in Barbarossa). This lead me to wonder, which missions will be changed and which newer civilizations we are propably going to see in the older campaigns.

So here are my guesses which missions will be changed and what the changes are going to be. Note that this is just a speculation and I have no idea what changes are going to be made. I'm not even in the Beta (yet, wink wink).

So let's get started.

The Age of Kings

Saladin

The Horns of Hattin and Siege of Jerusalem

Since Byzantines are apparently going to use the mediterranean architecture in the DE, I think there is an argument to be made that Jerusalem should still retain the middle eastern look. This does not neccesarily mean that Jerusalem should be changed from Byzantines to Saracens, as long as it keeps its middle eastern architecture.

The Lion and the Demon

See above for changes regarding Jerusalem. In addition, the Genoese are proapbly going to be Italians.

Genghis Khan

Crucible

Maybe for sake of variety, some clans might use either Cumans or Tatars. I heavily doubt that they are going to change anything here.

But hey, this whole list is all about speculations! ¯\(ツ)/¯

The Horde Rides West

I think Slavs would better represent Russians than Goths, right? /s

The Promise

Poles are an interesting case, since there are more options. I would personally choose Slavs, but depending on what kind of civilization Lithuanians are, the Polish could also be represented by them as well.

Or maybe I'm thinking too much about Poland-Lithuanian commonwealth here. Maybe Poles should be Slavs after all.

And as a side note, I hope that they would make it so that when Viper next time scouts the Bohemian garrison, the Bohemians would flood his base and punish him, like a hasty little micro-nerd he is. :) (no offence meant mate, I love your content <3)

Pax Mongolia

Yeah, the Hungarians should be Magyars.

I find this one actually rather fascinating.

I think it was already revelead that the Italian enemies in these missions are going to be actual Italians in the DE.

The Conquerors

Attila the Hun

The Great Ride, The Walls of Constantinople and The Fall of Rome

Don't knonw about this one. It is possible that they are going to change some of the cities to Italians. Especially in the last mission I believe all the civs could be turned to Italians, except maybe the Rome itself.

The Attila campaign is an akward one to figure out, because almost every Roman city uses a make shift civ.

El Cid

Black Guards, King of Valencia and Reconquista

Yusuf and the Black Guards were Berbers so I guess they are going be their civ is going to change in the DE to represent that.

Also in the 5th mssion, maybe they should change Berenguer to Spanish, as he was in 3rd mission.

IMHO Saracens are fine civ for Moors and Motamid.

Montezuma

I doubt they are going to do anything for Montezuma campaing, although there is a possiblity that some of the Mayan or Aztec NPC's could be changed to the Incas just for heck of it.

Battles of the Conquerors

I think the only change will be in the battle of Tours, where Berbers are going to be changed from Turks to, well, Berbers ;)

If they are going to make bigger changes to the missions, then Italians might make some appearance in the Battle of Lepanto.

The Forgotten

Lazier (and more sane) person would stop at the original civs, but let's assume they are going to remake the Forgotten campaings as well. I hope they do, some of the missions are currently barely playable.

Campaigns

At the quick glance I didn't find anything out of place from the Forgotten campaigns, but for instance Bulgarians could make an appearance in some of the missions in the Dracula campaign.

Bukhara & Honfoglalás

This is actually the most difficult part which I just can't make head and tail of: Should the White Huns, Göktürks and Pechenegs use Cumans or Tatars instead of Mongols or Turks which they currently use?

The problem with Turks is that they are based on Seljuk Turks while I think the Cumans might be more fitting to represent Göktürks or Pechenegs.

Or I just decide to not care that much and just keep the civs as they are.

African Kingdoms & Rise of the Rajas

These are so new, that I think there are nothing to be changed here.

What do you think? Did I miss any replacments or did I make a gross mistake somewhere?
