You've surely noticed how some AoM upgrades are clickbaits in terms of their name and actual functionality.

Hunting Dogs → helps your villagers gather food from hunted animals faster

How does owning dogs for hunting actually help you gather faster? Do dogs gather with you? 😅 It would actually be the opposite because you'd need to feed them as well.
