Average is noob?

Something I don't get, why do so many call an average Elo player around 1000 Elo a noob?

Even 800 Elo players can luer boars and play legit. A noob to me is a new player, or one so bad they seem like one.

Think, if T90 did low Elo ledgends with 900 Elo players, that's definitely not bad enough to be funny.

Can't think of anything else in regular life or sports where someone is average level at something, but always called a noob.
