How can a ranked match end with no results?

I'm just curious. I played a ranked game yesterday, and got no points at the end of it. My opponent was higher rated then me, and I won. He did not drop, but resigned.

I know that sometimes it takes some time to update but this time it did not (I've played other matches after this one).

On aoe2.net and aoe2.club the match is marked 'no result'

Is this common? And is there any reason for it?
