A friend of mine gets a 0:00 timer in the queue and a black screen in 1/3 of his games. How can he fix it?

Hi:

I often duo with a friend of mine. He constantly gets the timer stuck at 00:00 (and eventually gets us kicked out of the queue). He also gets the screen covered with black fog at the start of games, which doesn't let him play. Both happen about 1/3 of the games (or queues) we play.

Does anyone know how to fix it, or why does it happen?
