Newb from the late 90's early 2000's

Listen homies,

I played Age of Empires on PC (which in my day, when I was a kid and early enough to play and be decent, was from mid 90's to early 2000's. I drunkenly downloaded AOE 3 but online playing is so new to me. I know the gist of AOE, and I played the single player on AOE3 many times but I'm so confused about the multiplayer. I've Google and done what they said but everyone keeps saying I'm a noob and kicking me - I wanna play, but I don't know how to be a better multi-players. Can u guys help me with links or suggestsions to be better going from the first version to this foreign version to me literally 15 years later or more??? God damn. Please helppppp
