Age of empires 2 (2013).... Black screen with music and mouse pointer after the intro video

Hi everybody I need your help for an issue I'm not able to solve by myself.

I've bought AoE2 (2013) on STEAM, running on Ubuntu 20.04, on a laptop with 16 GB of RAM and an Intel Integrated Graphics Controller (4th generation).

The game starts, the intro and the music works fine, then ... nothing. Black screen with music of the starting screen and the pointer active (if you click you obtain an effect, even the supposed starting of a campaign, according to the audio that is played).

If you click the mouse or the Esc button during the intro, the screen of the intro freeze and you can hear the same music and get the same effects described above.

I've looked around and found several hints to solve this problem. Unfortunately none of them worked.

1-set the resolution to 1024x768

2- renamed the launcher file and subsituted it with the AOE HD file

I've also read that this problem was solved by someone with a downgrade of the driver of the NVIDIA, but I was not able to do the same on my Intel Graphics (and I don't know if this can cause some other side effects).

Can anybody help me?
