A year and a half ago I started playing online with some friends. Before that, I only used to play against the AI and I was not very good at it, I could only handle moderate and sometimes hard. My friends were at about the same level as me, so the games were balanced and fun. Except, we had this one friend who was a veteran from the old Age of Empires 2 The Conquerors and he always destroyed me (or anyone at his path)
So, about a year ago I started to train and get better. I watched guides, learnt build orders and started playing ranked, managing to achieve 1050 elo and to beat extreme AI (although sometimes if I don't execute my build order flawlessly, I lose)
The last time I played against my veteran friend, I destroyed him easily in less than 15 minutes. Everyone in the group was very impressed and I was very happy about myself.
BUT now I see sometimes they are playing and they don't invite me anymore. I talked about it with one of them and she told literally this: "I'm sorry, but the thing is you are too good for us, it is going to be unfair for the team that does not have you"
I was a bit upset but I also understood, however it really sucks to be excluded for being too good. I don't even play on ranked anymore and I don't practice or anything, I have been playing campaigns and sometimes against AI because I'm afraid of improving even more but, to be honest, I really miss ranking.
What would you do guys?
