Help countering Bombard Cannons

I've been playing a couple of games everyday. I have every new player problems that I'm trying to improve doing 1v1s.

But generally I preffer to play 3v3, 4v4s, which in players around 1500-1600 usually are defensive games that go to post-imperial wars, then the player with the better comp just end up destroying 1 by 1 the other team.

Last game, an arena 4v4, I was Aztecs and I was slowly beating the orange enemy (next to me). But another enemy (blue) came to help with Hand Cannoners and Bombard Cannons. the BC just destroyed my 6 trebuchet, and my infantry couldn't even get close. the BCs procceded to destroy all of my forward buildings and I had to start switching to Skirmishers but couldn't do much.

I fell like there are a lot of games that I lost against trebuchets/BCs. What is the best I can do to counter them?

Obviously in a 1v1 situation I can just end the game before that point, but in team games I feel like there is little to do at that point, and the player that get the trebuchet/BCs with some army to defend it just wins
